L. Ron Caners saga of Lies Continues

Dr. Ergun Caner continues his campaign against his own, and the Churches credibility. Reminiscent of L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology, Dr Caner has embarked on a scorched Earth Campaign against any who provides proof that demonstrates his is a liar. Caner is suing a young unemployed man had with three children who had the unmitigated Gall to show that in his address to a group of Marines that he was clearly guilty of fabrication.

It seems incredible that he can continue his defense in the face of the factual revelation that every aspect of the story of his life is completely false. What is even more amazing is that people in the Southern Baptist Convention will defend him. What leaves me utterly, slack jawed astonished is the SBCs Georgia affialiate will elect him Unanimously to be the President of Brewton-Parker College, one of its educational establishments. :SBC_TODAY. The article quoted Caners predecessor,"I am excited about the appointment of Dr. Ergun Caner as the 16th president of Brewton-Parker. Dr. Caner brings a wealth of experience to the presidency with more than three decades in Christian higher education leadership, Biblical teaching, preaching and apologetics. This appointment will excite Georgia Baptists and Southern Baptists who will sit up and take notice that Brewton-Parker College and its trustees are serious about its stand on the infallibility of the Scriptures and its decision to honor Jesus Christ in every area. I have no doubt that the college will grow and strengthen exponentially under his leadership"     SBC_TODAY.
Allegedly Ergun Caner

The article goes on to mention the charges made against Caner, but following the pattern of Caner defenders they do not choose to say what those accusations are.The article states,In 2010 Caner was embroiled in controversy when religious bloggers accused him of embellishing his background as a former Muslim turned Christian. When those bloggers began uploading videos allegedly of Caner, Liberty University formed a committee to investigate the charges. Though the committee found no evidence of Caner deliberately lying, he stepped down as dean, though he continued as a full-time professor until he went to Arlington "SBC_TODAY

Typical of Caners defenders the article implies that the primary thrust of the charges by Christians somehow focused on a claim that he had never been a Muslim. This is false this charge was only made by the Muslims.
The Christians simply pointed out that Caner almost totally fabricated a background of a fanatical Muslim trained in jihah, who lied about when he came to America, having studied in Madrassahs, etc. Most amazing of all is the quote "When those bloggers began uploading videos allegedly of Caner" Allegedly, who is it really. Ridiculous.

The final blow came from one of the trustees who said “We didn’t consider Dr. Caner in spite of the attacks; we elected him because of them. He has endured relentless and pagan attacks like a warrior. We need a warrior as our next president."SBC_TODAY

Sadly it seems the total lack of discernment that afflicts the Church is clearly demonstrated in the SBC.
Apparently Brewton-College will be well served by a man is a stranger to honesty and truthfulness and who sues another minister in his own Church. The Georgia Baptists are doing Caner no favor. By perpetuating and rewarding his mis-behavior they are only guaranteeing it will continue .
Caner addresses charges against him.

Pope Defines What Muslims Should Believe!

Jihad Watch has posted the following message from "pope" Francis
"253. In order to sustain dialogue with Islam, suitable training is essential for all involved, not only so that they can be solidly and joyfully grounded in their own identity, but so that they can also acknowledge the values of others, appreciate the concerns underlying their demands and shed light on shared beliefs. We Christians should embrace with affection and respect Muslim immigrants to our countries in the same way that we hope and ask to be received and respected in countries of Islamic tradition. I ask and I humbly entreat those countries to grant Christians freedom to worship and to practice their faith, in light of the freedom which followers of Islam enjoy in Western countries! Faced with disconcerting episodes of violent fundamentalism, our respect for true followers of Islam should lead us to avoid hateful generalizations, for authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence."1

One wonders what planet poor Francis is living on.The reality is that there is no country in the world where Muslims cannot freely practice their religion. There is no Muslim country in the world where Christians have
similar religious liberty. One has to ask if he has any familiarity with the Koran and its repeated incitement of violence against non-Muslims.

Clearly this is one more example of the Roman Systems increasing embrace of Universalism. Having lived in the Middle East (Iran), I am well aware that Muslims are but men like ourselves and should be treated like those made in the image of God. But as in the case of any other error, (eg Mormonism, Buddhism, homosexuality, etc.) we have  to make a distinction the individual Muslim and Islam.

Once again, an all to fallible individual, having cloaked himself in the mantle of infallibility has sought to pontificate {pun intended) to the world. Catholics should ask themselves if he gets this so utterly and completely wrong how can he be trusted on anything?

In the past, the papacy, like it did during the time of Julius II allied with the Turks against professing Christians, (the Venetians). Maybe this is just another maneuver.

Obama Continues To Militarize Police Forces!

The Website The New American Online has an revealing argument about how Obama, is violating the Constitution ever more blatantly. In the article by Alex Newman, Obama is revealed to be giving huge quantities of Military weapons to to local city and county Police forces.

Among other thing it reveals how, This year alone, over 150 so-called “mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles,” or MRAPS, used by U.S. forces in Iraq, were distributed by the administration to local police departments within the “Homeland."1 I addition to this it reminds how every federal agency is purchasing and stockpiling Ammunition, without ever giving an adequate explanation why.

Among other things, these "gifts" given by the Federal government to the Police, Will compromise the autonomy of our local police, since such aid is always conditional.. In addition, speaking in tandem with groups like The Southern Poverty Lie center makes it clear who they regard as the threat; Christian groups, Pro Lifers, Pro Second Amendmenters, teaparty members, and tax protesters.

Is Obama our Cataline? Our Caesar?, Our Napoleon? Well he seems more like a buffoon,  but then we have to also consider the forces behind Obama. To me it seems Obama is the hand puppet, the window dressing used to further the agenda, The newly armed security forces are to be the steel in the glove. As one New York County Sheriff, Craig Apple said about his knew "MRAP", "Its Armored, Its heavy, Its intimidating, and its free."1 Well Sheriff apple who is it meant to intimidate? The conventional use for these vehichles in Law enforcement seem to be limited. So in which direction will the guns be turned? I think we know.

P. J. O'Rourke wrote a highly interesting Argument in the Wall Street Journal entitled, "the Boomer Bust", which I highly recommend.

I made the following comment:
This article is insightful but sad. It demostrates that while those with only a secular worldview can diagnose the problems of our times but they have no real solution. Secular materialism and Postmodernism are the fruits of this generation. As one of its later members, (b.1960) I feel unfortunate that a frowning providence has destined me to have been born into it. Yet I know that the root of the problem of the modern west is spiritual as is the answer to that problem.

Whether it is our fate to go the way of Rome or witness a national awakening is in the plan of a wiser mind than ours. We have a duty to call our society and culture back from the brink and fight to restore the Christian heritage of our civilization. Sadly Mr. O'Rourke, sees the house burning but has no idea of how to put it out.

Why We Don't Trust Each Other

This post is, oddly enough inspired by an article in USA Today, Now USA, which is really nothing more than MSNBC in print, doesn't usually have much content that merits attention, but my eye was caught by an article titled "Poll, Americans Don't Trust One Another." The surveys purports that only 1/3 of Americans trust each other, down from half in 1972.

The author then cast about for a culprit in all this, blaming economic conditions,Television, 24 hour news, and of course, being USA Today, Watergate and Vietnam. (And by extension the Republicans.) What apparently cant be considered is the fact that people simply are more dishonest and less trustworthy than they were before.

Interestingly, the author does not see the problem in terms of the decline in honesty, but in peoples lack of will to trust. An example of this thinking is found when he states"In fact, some studies suggest it's too late for most Americans alive today to become more trusting. That research says the basis for a person's lifetime trust levels is set by his or her mid-twenties and unlikely to change, other than in some unifying crucible such as a world war."
and "The best hope for creating a more trusting nation may be figuring out how to inspire today's youth, perhaps united by their high-tech gadgets, to trust the way previous generations did in simpler times."

Seemingly in the authors eyes trust is in itself a virtue apart from circumstances. I think that most people, if they were surrounded by people they know to be dishonest, would regard mistrust as common sense. The reality is that our culture has abandoned its roots in Christian Theism. With those values lost all concepts of objective moral truth also vanish. People more and more are experiencing no qualms of conscience when they do wrong. Consequently more wrong, both in terms of quantity and quality is done. Mistrust is the natural outcome of this.

Look at our Cinema and Television. Programs like The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, or the films of Tarantino/ Postmodernism prevails. There are no truly good people. The heroes (if any, are little better than the villains. Look at the music with its glorification of criminality. Look at the Universities with their promotion of a relentless materialism. As Solzhenitsyn tellingly observed, “If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”
― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

The reality is we are right to mistrust each other. We are from the moment of conception carrying within our natures the effects of the fall, including dishonesty and treachery. With the departure of the restraint of Gods Common grace acting in men's consciences and more importantly the saving grace of God with the transforming Grace of His Spirit, we can only adopt the old motto, "In God we Trust All Others Pay Cash."
