Bread, Circus, and Beating the Crap Out of Each Other. The sad tale of Rudy Johnson.

Living in Alabama, you can never be allowed to forget its football season. People, who cant be moved by their countries dying economy, mass murder in the abortion clinics, growing tyranny of the pointless endless war in Afghanistan can come to rapt attention by every move made on the football field.

Enter the story of Rudy Johnson QB for Winston-Salem State. at a "celebration Luncheon" for his team and Virginia State players he was attacked and "viciously beaten" by at least five and possibly more,Virginia State players and was, most critically, "unable to play". This is only the latest chapter in the long saga of criminality perpetuated by College and Professional athletes in todays America.

There are lessons to be learned from this. One is that it is ridiculous to pretend that College Athletics today have anything to do with College and Education. At one time College athletes were students who happened to be amateur athletes. Today they are Merely athletes who have to go through the Charade of being students to play.

The Coddling of athletes in America, which in some places, like Texas begins in Elementary school,
is an incubator for irresponsibility. In high school they often are promoted without passing for the good of the team. In college alumni associations of wealthy grads illegally provide them with money and help them with the masquerade that they are college student. They fix any legal problems they have resulting from illegal activity, and we're surprised when they become Felons.

This of course only harms the athletes and those who sadly have them for role models. The real harm is the hypnotic effect that athletics seem to hold over humans. This is nothing new . one need only look at the Gladiatorial Contests of ancient Rome and Chariot racing. Gladiators became the heroes of the day, (even though contra Spartacus most of them were criminals and army deserters who were sentenced to enslavement as gladiators.) In the Chariot races fanatical fans often rioted and two teams the Blues and the Greens became the most popular, so much so that they became representatives of political factions. As is noted in Wikipedia

"Adopting the color of their favorite charioteers was a way fans showed their loyalty to that particular racer or faction Many of the young men in the fan clubs, or factions, adopted extravagant clothing and hairstyles, such as billowing sleeves, "Hunnic" hair-styles, and "Persian" facial hair. There is evidence that these young men were the faction members most prone to violence and extreme factional rivalry.[ Some scholars have tried to argue that the factional rivalry and violence was a result of opposing religious or political views, but more likely the young men simply identified strongly with their faction for group solidarity. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chariot_racing

These sorts of "bread and Circus" elements are replete in America today, whether its "American Idol", or reality Television, EBT or Obamacare. The Time has come for the thinking American to put the beer can down, shut off the TV, and fight for the welfare of himself and his children!

Oprah, Damon, and MSNBC, Why Celebrities Should Stick To a Script.

Perusing Newsbusters.org One runs across several prime examples of Sheer unadulterated stupidity
on the part of Americas best and brightest. First Oprah in an interview with the BBC complained that B. H. Obama, our beloved helmsman was only being treated with disrespect because he was black.(apparently she doesn't realize that given his total lack of Qualifications the only reason he was elected is because he was black.)

She then goes on to lament that the horrors faced by blacks in America today,
"Are there still places where people are terrorized because of the color of their skin, because of the color of their black skin? Yes. But there are laws that have allowed us to progress beyond what we saw in the Scottsboro boys and beyond the even the prejudice we see in “The Butler.”(1)

Actually there are places where black people are terrorized. There called the inner cities and the terrorizing is by blacks killing other blacks in the thousands. Given the statistics for interracial murder, (far more likely to be Black on White, than White on Black) one has to ask whose terrorizing whom.

Of course Oprah has an answer for this,Of course problem is not solved. "You know, as long as people can be judged by the color of their skin, problem’s not solved. As long as there are people who still, there’s a whole generation – I say this, you know, I said this, you know, for apartheid South Africa, I said this for my own, you know, community in the south - there are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die."(1)

Well Judging white people by the color of their skin certainly doesn't seem to bother Oprah. one wonders how many Black people have to die before black racism disappears. Given that Oprah
relies on millions of white sheeple to watch the tripe she puts on the air one would think she would be less judgmental.

Our second piece this evening comes from the insightful mind of Matt Damon. As Noel Sheppard reports Damon, in an interview with Jake Tapper of CNN ,responding to Jeb Bush's observation that he was a public school advocate while sending his children to private school,  makes the brilliant observation  "I'd eat my shoe if he could name a Bush that ever even walked into a public school"(2). Of course the unclouded mind will go back to the film of Bush sitting in a public school when told of 911. Add to that the facts Bush's children attended public schools in Texas and his wife taught in public schools and Damon looks very much like a braying Jackass.

Liz Winstead Comedian and policy expert
Anthea Butler: I wonder where that clenched fist salute
comes from?
Our third demonstration of what a circus political discourse has become in this country came from Tim Graham who reports of an MSNBC discussion called  “The All-Out Assault on Women.” 1st panel member Liz Winstead called for the elimination of voting and free speech rights for pro life Americans," LIZZ WINSTEAD: I never have understood how anybody gets a seat at any decision-making table by saying two different things. One: “I’m not a doctor, and I know nothing about science, but –“ Okay, out! Two: “I want to reduce the number of abortions, and the way I want to do that is to remove access to affordable birth control.” You? Out!"3 As  Graham points out neither Winstead or the other panel member were doctors or Scientists.

the hyphenated Hallis-Perry then goes on to describe the aims of the pro-lifers , "So no contraception, no abortion – compulsory pregnancy – and then, the children that you have, have to be hungry. Because that is what will punish you for having had sex." to which Winstead replies " They don’t want poor women to have joy."3. Rounded out by uniquely coiffed
Anthea Butler, a so called religion professor who defined the problem thusly "No they don’t, and they want to sacralize sperm, and it’s time we quit sacralizing sperm in this country, and making it the most important thing that there is."3

Cave Women, Darwinism , And The Shifting Claims of Evolution.

A new sensation is being drummed up in the media over an all female, (not sure why this is important to what is supposed to be a scientific expedition), Scientist have been exploring caves in South Africa.  There they claimed to have found very significant Hominid fossils. The NBC news online science desk made sure we know what a sacred moment this is.

"The cranium and a hominin jawbone were among the most-prized specimens. "Cuddled the cranium all morning, then made first run carrying fossils entire way. Getting the hang of this!" Gurtov reported.

By the end of the day, a box containing the cranium was carefully handed up from the depths by a human chain. "Lots of celebration out here. Rising moon, beautiful evening, and twenty celebrating people," Hawks wrote.

Gurtov exulted over the skull's retrieval. "CRANIUM IS OUT! No revealsies until tomorrow, though," she tweeted. "Needs pampering." nbc

As Richard Milton has observed when you look at the display and museum that contain early Hominid fossils that they have a remarkable resemblance to Religious shrines or temples. They are in fact the these fossils are relics of our societies Humanists, Darwinists, faith.

We know what will happen. As in the past, someone will declare the discovery of mans ancestors
and proof of human evolution. Over time it will be quietly discovered that the fossil is merely a "branch" on the family tree. This will not get any media attention. This is the trend that has happened again and again from Piltdown man and the Coelacanth to "Lucy"

I've always found it a humorous coincidence that operating in a modern academic community that has
become both rabidly Europhobic and Afrocentric One thing that they are absolutely certain of is that man originated in Africa. No doubt in the future they will determine the earliest hominids were gay and that hominid society was matriarchal.

Well until the next group of Scientist, (no doubt a group of Aboriginal, Lesbian , Handicapped persons) makes the next outstanding discovery we'll have to make do with this one.

Pray for Coy!

Note the propaganda use of these pictures picture on
left uses b/w with harsh lighting and frown. the "pref
erred picture is shown in color with the child smiling and
happy. these manipulations are common in propaganda.
Our Second post is also inspired by the Briefing. "Rolling Stone" magazines online edition features an article by Sabrina Rubin Erdely, celebrating the criminal child abuse that is being inflicted on a little boy, Coy Mathis by his parents. According to his mother, (the article doesn't quote the father
much.} young Coy supposedly from a very early age began expressing his desire to be a girl. It is clear from the article that the parents {the mother at least) encouraged his feelings in this regard. as the article states "She wondered whether their toddler might be gay. The notion sat fine with her.
The Mathises were recent transplants from Austin and considered themselves progressive and open-minded; Kathryn herself had a gay sister. But she told no one of her suspicion about Coy – it felt creepily premature to speculate about the sexuality of a kid still in diapers."1

Its clear from the article that the  at every step the deeply disturbed child's behavior was positively reinforced. He was allowed at an early age to dress as a girl and no attempt seems to have been made to alter it. According to the mother young Coy then asked ""Then one night in January 2010, Kathryn was tucking him in for bed under his pink quilt, and Coy, then three, seemed upset. "What's wrong?" she asked. Coy, his head resting against his kitty-cat-print pillow, hugged his pink stuffed pony with the glittery mane that he'd gotten for Christmas and said nothing, his mouth bent in a tight frown. "Tell me," Kathryn urged. Coy's chin began to quiver.
"When am I going to get my girl parts?" he asked softly.
"What do you mean?"
"When are we going to go to the doctor to have me fixed?" Coy asked, tears now spilling down his cheeks. "To get my girl parts?"1
Now if anyone thought that this unfortunate child thought of this on his own then I have a large Tower in Paris I'll sell you cheap. Now what will be the fruit of this. If things continue the child will have the so-called "sex Change" surgery that has such a rate of failure that John Hopkins Univ. that once was the leading performer of them no longer does them.

Coy's mothers answer is a simple one. "The best way to explain it is, no bodies are the same. Some girls have penises and some boys have vulvas."1 Sorry Mrs. Mathis but they don't . Coy was born with a Y Chromosome and is a male, like God made him. All the reinforcement of his problem you have given will not change that. Any future mutilations done to him by the medical community will not change that, only make him another of the sad pathetic individuals who have been altered in this way.

The sad thing is that this would have once have been seen as what it is child abuse. Now its considered trendy. The rest of the article is predictable. No other position is given except in caricature to be ridiculed. Religious and Political conservatives are derided, as is any normal person who thinks this sort of thing is wrong. One prays for Coy, his deluded parents, and even Mrs. Erdely who is exploiting them all to further a socio-political agend

America, Libertarianism, and The Church

Two days in a row Albert Mohler will serve as inspiration. On his podcast, the briefing, for 11/15/13 he quotes from 2 stories that are of enormous interest. First he quotes from an article by Conor Friedersdorf,  Atlantic

In it he quotes and article by Ross Douthat in which he claims that the impulse driving the increase in legislation for drug legalization and gambling have numerous causes. However, he argues that the cause of both is "the rise of a live-and-let-live social libertarianism, the weakening influence of both religious conservatism and liberal communitarianism, the growing suspicion of moralism in public policy."  Friedersdorf argues that people are still making moral judgments but that the American people have largely embraced different moral principles and want the law to reflect their own moral Judgments.

He then makes the profoundly sad argument that "What's definitely grown larger is the subset of Americans who not only disagree with the notion that gay marriage or smoking marijuana or watching pornography is immoral, but can't even understand the moral logic of traditionalists."

This raises interesting points. This revolution in moral perspective is obviously been brought about by a number of factors : 1.) The saturation of Humanistic, Materialist and Post-modern propaganda via A Secular Education system, Hollywood, Modern Music, Liberal Theology, and Mainstream Evangelicalism refusing to face this Deluge. 2.) Many in the Church are now arguing that it's not our place to try to change society only to preach salvation. The society that has as Friedersdorf has pointed out "On gay marriage, many would go so far as to say that it is immoral to prohibit same-sex unions. Their determination to moralistically press their advantage is why traditionalists like Rod Dreher now worry that cultural conservatives will be compelled by anti-discrimination law to participate. "Do the advocates of this point of view think these people will leave us to preach the Christian message which will constantly point out the shortcomings of their cherished views?

Those of us who are reformed understand these people in the eyes of Romans 1. This new, "libertarianism" is nothing more than an effort to suppress the truth in unrighteousness. As Christians we call into question their most fundamental views. We are thus inevitably going to be the Fingernails on the chalkboard to these people. The Christian Message will create the dissonance in their mind that cannot reconcile their "new" morality with what their created natures know to be true and against which they have rebelled.

Atheist Mega Churches!

I heard about this morning on Al Mohler. I was tempted to post it in the humor section. CBS news has an article listed below. Founded a couple of years ago by a pair of English Comedians, there are now over three dozen of these congregations in America, Britain, and Australia. From the description the whole thing has a very, "lost in the 1960s" feel about it.

Personally, I think that the whole thing is a fad. It's hard to believe that this whole game wont become very tiresome after a while. There are a lot more fun ways to pass ones time and for those who are actually seeking something deeper certainly wont find it in this movement.

Frankly one doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. One hopes God will, for these people use the absurdity of going to a "Church" to deny the existence of God to lead them to repentance and salvation. My question is does this movement demonstrate that man is inherently religious or is it, Like the Church of Satan, or the Pagan movement that are merely immature people celebrating their rebellion against God or both.

PS: I wonder if they'll seek tax exempt status?

De-Mythologyzing the Scientific Orthodoxy!

Christians are always accused of being hostile to science. The reality is that we are not so opposed.
Many of the Great scientists were believers. The simple fact is that what we as believers are opposed to the prevailing scientific Orthodoxy. The scientist is as human as the rest of us, as subject to prejudice, bias and group think as anyone. In society today we have mythologized the scientist as an objective secular priest, objective and uninfluenced by any kind of outside influence. The reality is otherwise.

An excellent example of this is found in Debbie Nathans book Sybil Exposed. Sybil by the 1980s The belief that multiple personality disorder was a common problem had become widespread. The origins of this movement can clearly be traced to the work of Cornelia Wilbur, and the Book “Sybil” Released in 1973 the books tells of a young woman, given the pseudonym “Sybil Dorsett” goes to Dr. Wilbur for treatment for her bizarre and sometimes destructive behavior. Eventually she appears before Dr Wilbur As another person, a child named Peggy. With the help of Drugs and Hypnosis the Dr. Determines that Sybil’s other personalities or “Alters “ had split off from Sybil's core personality as a means of escaping the enormous and bizarre physical and sexual trauma at the hands of her mother that had been discovered through sessions of Sodium Pentothal and hypnosis. After years of long, {and for Wilbur ultimately profitable} work Wilbur “re-integrated” Sybil's alters into Sybil's damaged psyche.
Until Sybil, Multiple Personality Disorder, or to use the more modern name, Dissociative Identity Disorder was a highly debated diagnosis with only a handful of cases prior to Sybil. With the Publication of the book and subsequent mini-series the diagnosis exploded to 20 to 40 thousand cases by the 1990s. It became so popular that even Hillside strangler Kenny Bianchi attempted to launch a multiple personality defense. Dr. Wilbur successfully marketed the diagnosis to the point that an entire association, “The International Association of Multiple Personality” with conventions, peer-reviewed journals and everything. Although some, including book reviewers questioned the books veracity they were ignored by the public in its rush to acceptance. While quietly some raised doubts and others sought to uncover the identity of Sybil, the story proved to have long legs with a remake of the TV show being made in 2007. Then in 2012 there was a bombshell, Debbie Nathan’s book “Sybil Exposed” Nathan revealed that the real Sybil {Shirley Ardell Mason} was a troubled young girl originally diagnosed with hysteria. Going to Dr. Wilbur while both were in Nebraska she is treated by Wilbur and the two develop a strong relationship with Mason becoming highly dependent on the Dr. Circumstances separated the two and they did not meet again until ten years later when Mason resumes treatment with Wilbur who now has a very successful practice.

In the meantime Wilbur has become extremely interested in the idea of Multiple personalities. As is suggested in Nathans Book, Sybil to please Dr. Wilbur convinces her she is a Multiple Personality. (Apparently not a hard sell,) Wilbur decides to see if a book can be written on the subject and succeeds beyond her wildest dreams. It is apparent that Wilbur went out of her way to suppress any doubt even when Sybil's story becomes bizarre. Although some things, {like Masons Claim to have been a courier for British agents and to flown from the U.S. To Amsterdam at the height of WW2 she accepted as fantasies and they were not included in the book.}, A large number of equally
bizarre claims weren't Eventually Wilber decided Sybil/Masons story would make a good book. Flora Schreiber the future author agreed but it needed a happy ending Sybil was obligingly cured.
Now the MPD diagnosis is now considered to be highly misdiagnosed, if not spurious. The teachings of science, once so certain is now derided. What does this tell us? That those who are so skeptical regarding the claims of Christianity should be as skeptical of their own claims.
